why is it ok to eat dogs and cats in China, but not the US?

Jews probably think it's digusting to eat hot dogs, expect kosher of course. :) let's leave Michelle Obama out of it shall we.

  1. It's ok here, it's just not culturally ok.
  2. You don't think it is being done here? Wanna buy a bridge or two?
  3. Excuse me? Are you implying you want to eat a dog or cat?
  4. Just different cultures. In some cultures it is sacrilege to eat cow.
  5. Do Chinese eat alligator meat? They serve it at Bub's BBQ in Amherst, Massachusetts.
  6. Ever been to a Chinese restaurant?
  7. why is it ok stupid americans can carry guns in person and do driveby shooting?
  8. It's a cultural thing. There's probably someone somewhere that thinks we're disgusting for eating hot dogs.
  9. American society on a whole seems to embrace hypocrisy.
  10. It is not illegal. You can eat all the cats, dogs, mice and rats you want.
  11. why would you want to?
  12. Because it's disgusting. We are not communist country. Our government doesn't take stray dogs to kill them and eat them.
  13. I wouldn't eat dogs or cats whether I'm in China or the U.S. Hmm maybe that is all they have around there,
  14. Belgians eat horses also and I'm told it's good eating.
  15. Go ahead and eat a dog or cat if you want. Personally, I'm satisfied with the Turkey sub and chips I just had for lunch. But, to each their own.
  16. Here in the US, if your dog eats the neighbor's cat, you're getting probation and huge fines. Saw it happen 2 weeks ago, right here in Tennessee of all places. It's not the year of the pit bull. They do a lot of things in China that we don't think people should do--at least some of us.
  17. Its a cultural idea, that's what all food is.
  18. Don't worry. After 4 years of Barack Hussein Obama we will eat in the US dogs, cats and even gophers.
  19. Because it's absolutely sickening. Animals that walk up to you wagging their tail because they've evolved into domestic animals, our friends, and you kill them and eat them. The Chinese skin cats and dogs alive for the fur trade. Why would anyone do that, just because they're backward mean people? And they cook cats alive. Chinese are FILTH. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28292558/ http://www.caft.org.uk/factsheets/cats-and-dogs.html
  20. And Korea and the Philipines. In the West the dog is considered man's best friend and a noble animal. The dog in the West has never been considered a food animal like cattle or hogs. The Asians have an entirely different view towards the canine. In fact, all over Asia (including Siberia) the dog is considered vermin like we consider rats. Very few Americans would hesitate in killing a rat and it doesn't matter how it dies, well Asians feel the same way towards dogs and frequently torture the animal slowly to death to 'duress the meat' which is supposed to improve the flavor. As long as Asians keep their dog eating over in their own countries it is none of my business, but when Korean restaurants kill dogs and serve them in Los Angeles and the surrounding area, then they need to be placed under arrest and put in jail.
  21. Because it is not okay to eat dogs and cats in China.
  22. The same reason why it's ok to eat pork in the U.S. but not in other countries. All about the cultures. Why is the United States the only country that doesn't consider insects, as a meal? When insects are best for you. Just the culture is all.
  23. I just had a nice medium rare puggle.
  24. In places like the Middle East, China, and Vietnam, they don't have a cultural tradition of having dogs as pet. In the United States, we even have a saying that "a dog is man's best friend" (and another, that dog spelled backwards spells "god"). They simply don't understand this mentality in China. In the U.S. we absolutely revere our pets. There have been several movies (usually wry and comical) showing the excesses to which people love and pamper their pets. In my own experience, I can tell you what happened when our dog died. No one could even speak for three days. We were absolutely devastated, even though our dog was old and we knew his time was coming. As I said, besides hardly saying a word for three days, we somehow all felt that even talking was disrespectful to his memory. Our dog Pepe was our best friend. He went through all the good and bad times with us. A dog gives unconditional love, never complains, never gets moody, never shuns you, and doesn't get grumpy or hold a grudge. So is it any wonder we loved him so much? In China, they'd just shake their head in disbelief and wonder how you could love a "dumb animal". They have no clue.
  25. Well that's not true, I'm sure obama probably goes down on Michelle.
  26. that's just what they do. lol
