How do you decide how and which horses to bet on at the race track?
My wife and I are going to our first horse race and want to at least have a small chance to win some money.

- the odds on the horses
- Look for the ones with the longest legs, healthiest shine, and quite a light or small jockey.
- I live near Santa Anita. I have never been, which is a dumb way to start to answer your question, but I hears it's the feeling you have when you read the name of the horse.
- choose the fastest horse
- the won in the lead at the end of the race..
- use a sharp pin
- It's best to bet on the horse with one or two very small white socks on their hind feet. It's a (true) rumor that horses with white markings on their hind legs are the fastest. They always seem to win. Also, make sure the horse is healthy and ready to run!
- Winning at the track has little to do with which horse will win as opposed to getting more odds than the horses tru odds of winning. This is pretty easy to do using the morning line odds that are posted on the racing program. Look at the lowest odds horse posted on the morning line. If it is 2/1 for example, only bet that horse to win if the tote board odds are 2/1 and higher. If the horse is at less than 2/1 odds then move to the horse with the next lowest morning line odds. If you can get better odds at the track than the morning line, then play that horse to win.
- pick the gray horse...........
