What are your dogs names?! how did you pick them?!?

I love to hear about how people come up with the names of their dogs (and other animals) these are mine: Lilly (Pit bull)- she looked just like her mother so we named her after her mom! Stevie Knicks (Jack Russell)- LOVE the singer stevie knicks, and the name Stevie fits my little GIRL perfect!!! Sweater Beep- (tiny mix)- when Beep was little she tried to bark but it was so tiny it sounded like a beep. she was also always sooo cold so we made her a sweater and so she got the name Sweater Beep or just Beep. Alexander The Great- (Great dane) Alex is my giant baby, I wanted something handsome and powerful but that cut down to something easy and cute: ALEX!!! Apollo (Orange Tabby Cat)- I found him under a car, and he was such a beautiful fire orange i named him after the sun god Apollo. Possom- (cat) Possom NEVER moved when she was little, her head just flopped back and she would almost hang upside down when looking at you... and the spelling makes is original too! ReRe- I adopted a kitten who has mental retardation that causes her to have no sense of balance or coordination, I know its mean, but she is soooo cute! What about yours?!?!!? PS- once we found a 4 week old puppy in a dumpster and i named him Howie for (How we get like this?!) LOL Sorry guys i am having a boring day at work and i am just curious!

1. Oreo - my daughter named him that because he's black and white (Shitzu/Bichon)
2. San Dee - husband came back from business trip to san deigo and bought her.
3. My little black mixed breed is named Sophie. Thats the name that she came with from the shelter we adopted her from, so sorry but nothing too interesting about that! We couldnt think of a better name and it just seemed to fit her so we kept the name.
4. Roxi (pitmix): I liked the name Roxy from the movie Chicago, and I changed the spelling to match how I spell my name. Peety (boxer): we had a white boxer with a brown spot around one eye like peety from Little Rascals.
5. Bubba Gump my boxer!! because I love the movie forest gump and forrest did not really seem to fit him (bubba is my fav. character anyways lol) and rebel my dachshund because if you tell him not to do something he will for sure do it...also rebels against his size he thinks he weighs 100 lbs not 10 lol
6. My dogs name WAS sparky, she got run over by my uncles van, now I have anew dog which is so small it fits in my hand, its smaller than my hand actuall, lol. Oh ya, her names misty. I said milly, misty or holly and we picked misty. oreo wud be such an awesome name for a black and white dog(I read above yeah)
7. My dog's name is Max. Traditional, yes, but I named him after his dog food. (I was named after a health and beauty product, so it works, lol.)
8. My pets usually pick their own names...like it just fits right. I have a mare that hated her name and if you would call her it she just pin her ears...I one day called her Lilly and she perked up and was very happy so she is now Lilly of Longstride. It is hard to explain. =) As to my dog...his name is Rowdy and yes he is. It is like owning a saint bernard in a golden retriever suit. Even the slober part, LOL. I named a gerbal furfoot once but changed it to danger mouse becasue she bit like crazy and would nail you every time you went to feed her. Hope your day gets better and May you be blessed.

Abby. full name is MIA ABIGAIL-------.{family last name} she was named abby by the family that took care of her for a week before we were able to get her. they had a houseful of kids and other dogs. they had already named her. It was her first name. When I brought her home, a week of our entire family trying new names, I called her abby one day and she responded immediately. so that was that. It fits her perfectly.. she has lots of nicknames though, and responds to all. Abby kins, Abbers, labbers, abber the labergails. lol.
10. Alfie- My old dog who died was walked by this really nice old man while I was at work so I named my new dog after him.
11. Tiny: Oppisite of what my great dane is!! Rufus: My black lab just looks like his name should be rufus!! Samson: My bullmastiff is really strong and big! Gus: My boston terrier just looks like a Gus! Jack: he's a jack russel! Goliath: My mastiff is really big! Coco: For pete's sake, he's a choclate lab!!!! Semper: That's the name of another golden retriver on a movie

Rea-she was the only one in her litter that had the perfect markings....my husband wanted something italian so we named her rea whih means flowing Kapton- we adopted him and kept his name...he was from a kennel that named their dogs after liquor...kapton morgan Reeses- she is a brindle and has the peanut butter and chocolate colors ash- she is a blue pit she looks ashy color leroy- he was adopted as well
13. Dutch (Tea Cup Yorkie) - it was between Dutch and Diesel and Diesel sounded too big for such a small dog.
14. My dog is named Hurley after the character on Lost because he's a little chubby, happy and definitely very cool. He would call everyone "dude" if he could talk. Like Hurley on Lost.
15. Tanner ( cocker spanial) he's a "tanned" color lol it was either tanner or whiskey My other one is Mercedes ( German shepherd) i will never have a Mercedes lol so why not name my baby it!
16. i currently have 5 dogs, 2 fish, 2 turtles, 1 eel, 1 yard cat, and a hedgehog. these are their names: Lobo (Yorkie): his name means wolf in spanish and we named him that because when he was a puppy, he looked like a little wolf. not so much anymore though because we shaved him. so he just looks like a giant rat. LOL!! Twinky (Rat Terrier): you can probably already tell where she got her name from. shes a golden yellow and white Rat Terrier. tada! Twinky was her given name!! Onyx (Labradane): we named her that because shes a black pup, and shes as beautiful as the Onyx stone. Security (Rhodesian Ridgeback): it was actually suggested by someone here on Y!A. they said it'd be cool because since they're also guard dogs, i can be like "dont make me call Security. SECURITY!" if somebodies bothering me. LOL!! Skip (goldfish): he got his name because when i first bought him, he was swimming in a way that looked like he was trying to skip. Koi (red and white fish): i named her that because she looks the Koi pond fish. Shellshock (turtle): i named him that because... my brother thought it was a cool name for a turtle. LynnLee (turtle): i named her that because its my two little cousins middle names (Alyssa Lynn, Aysia Lee) and its also the last name of Hannah Montana star Cody Linley (its not spelled the same, but its said the same). Sever (eel): idk... it sounded pretty cool when i got it. LOL!!!!! Rocca (yard cat): it was originally Rocco named after the show Rocco's Modern Life, but then we found out Rocco was a girl so it became Rocca. Knuckles (hedgehog): my little brother wanted to name it Sonic, but thats kidnof obvious. so we chose Knuckles because its not too obvious. LOL!!! :]
17. -Violeta(violet)(shephard retreiver)-we got her wen I was about 8 or 9 n I think my dad had a dog named violeta so we named her that after that dog. -Rex(half pit half rot)-my brother decided on the name..he got into everythin n chewed everything up wen he was young but he was strong n his tail hit hard when it whipped u.. -Canela(cinnamon)(pug)-shes my baby..it took us more then 2 weeks 2 come up with her name..my cousin said y don't we name her that since she's fawn n kinda had that cinnamon color when she was young.. -Maverick(american eskimo)-i dunno its my brothers dog..I never asked him =) -Izzy/Izzie(we don't know the sex yet)(african grey parrot)-the previous owner named it that and we decided 2 keep that name cuz the owners daughter began cryin wen we brought it cuz their landlord didn't allow them 2 have it -i had other pets when I was younger but ya -2 (birds)-michael & ashley-my parents named them Hamsters,fishes,turtles,chickens,roosters(haha yes) but I don't remember what their names were =D
18. Cat called heskey! After a previous Liverpool player!! Labrador - pebbles! Not sure where that came from! Myyy jack Russell - Ernie :D such a good name! Because my friend has a dog called Eric! So it's a good fit!
19. My miniature poodle name is Sachi. Its japanese for joy or happiness. Once I saw him, he made me happy.
