Why are Pitbull dogs ears so sensitive?

When I pat my pitbull girl on the head and accidentally get her ear..She makes this crying screaming noise..She had her ears clipped but that was about 4 years ago..Is that why they are so sensitive..or could it be something else?

1. she remembers the pain when they were clipped and is afraid you'll clip them again.
2. Cutting a dogs ears is EXTREMELY painful and EXTREMELY cruel. Unless you are showing your dog the ears should never be cut. Yes, her ears are probably in pain ALL THE TIME from being cut. Not sure if you had this done but if you didn't.. a lot of people think they can do it themselves and completely mess up the ears. If a vet did it, you should take the dog to a different vet and have the ears looked at.. the vet that did the cutting of the ears might have messed it up.
3. does she have something wrong with her ears maybe? dogs ears are ABOUT 4x better than ours, they can here very far. But even in this case it should not hurt that much, Vet check.
4. I would have a vet examine your dog. It could well be an ear infection or something that is causing her pain, or it could be a very bad crop job that did some permanent damage. Either way, if it hurts so much that your dog cries when you touch it, it needs to be diagnosed and treated in some manner.
5. Could be nerve damage which may be permanent.
6. Evil dogs must have a weakness somewhere, and hers are her ears. And people don't get mad at me for calling Pit Bulls evil, because if you look at the news reports, Pit Bulls are involved in more attacks than any other dog and don't throw out excuses that the media is biased against Pit bulls and only report on them, i don't buy that argument. Each thumbs down on this answer gets is just proof you don't care about little children that have gotten their faces eaten off by lovable misunderstood and not properly trained Pit Bulls.
7. the only time my dog cried about his ears was because he had a horrible infection in their. Otherwise I love to rub his un-cropped ears, their so soft. Hopefully nothing happened wrong with the cropping.
