How many animals are you allowed to have in your home?
We already have 3 indoor cats, all fixed and declawed and 2 fixed dogs. The dogs are inside dogs other than to go out to potty and run. They all have plenty of room inside as well as outside and are all very well taken care of. Is there any laws in NM that say you can only have so many animals? We are looking into getting another dog.

- no, as long as you keep taking care of them....the government gets on your case if you neglect them and leave them outside and dont clean up after them....cuz then ur hurting the animals, the people around you, and the environment. But as long as you keep doing what ur doing to keep them safe and take care of them....they cant tell you nothing...
- I'm not sure about the laws.... But my common sense says you can probably have as many as you want as long as they are treated humanely and are all well cared for.
- I would check with the city government in your town. It may vary from city to city.
- The laws vary by city. Go to your city's website and look up the municipal codes. They should talk about animal limits. There is likely limits on both the number and type of pets you can have. For instance, in my city, you cannot have livestock (duh), but chickens are okay "as long as they are not a nuisance" to your neighbors. I am allowed 3 dogs but would need a kennel permit (for an annual fee) if I wanted any more than that. There is no limit on cats currently. Again, all that is for MY town and it varies by city. Some cities require dog and/or cat licenses, others dont. Mine "recommends" them and they're free... others charge for them and require them, others offer them free to FIXED animals but charge for those who are unaltered. It just depends on your city.
