Will Stringhalt disease keep thoroughbred race horses from running their best? Thanks for your help.?

- Properly cared for, warmed up, and maintained, Stringhalt wouldn't have a major impact on the running ability of a Thoroughbred. Generally, stringhalt occurs during low-speed activity like walking around the barn/pasture. One of the best racers one barn I worked with had, would lock up occasionally being walked in the barn. With proper stretching, and a decent warmup (and no, no "artificial enhancements" raceday), he would run his heart out.
