  1. shelter or rescue. A "good" well-bred purebred dog is not cheap. Reputable breeders put a lot of money into their dogs to assure they are producing healthy animals. Genetic tests and vet care do not come cheap. If a breeder is selling a pup cheap, that means they are cutting corners and are not putting forth the expenses of proper care.
  2. Rescue a dog from your local animal shelter, SPCA or Humaine Society. Your parents will have to take you to sign the papers. Please save a dogs life!

  4. Shelter or rescue. By the way, there is no such thing as a cheap dog. Dogs cost thousands in their lifetimes. My "cheap" Great Dane ($350- wahoo a bargain right? Wrong!) has cost me over $5k (about 10k pounds) in 5 years because of poor breeding. If you are to buy from a breeder be sure it's a quality breeder. Have you considered a small mutt dog? Mutts are most always healthier then purebreds. Petfinder.com
  5. You really dont need a purebreed or anything like that. If you want a good dog get it mixed.
  6. hiya, in surrey uk, my son in law has just paid £800 for a chihuahua female puppy.so £600 is very cheap.don't forget to get your check out at the vets when you get yours,as they are prone to heart trouble.
  7. You are not going to find a good cheap Chihuahua. Chis are the must-have breed at the moment, demand has rocketed so prices have risen. You're not likely to find one in rescue either - although you will probably find a small crossbreed. If you do find one cheap, there will be a reason - it won't be registered and is therefore of doubtful origin (may grow as big as a horse!), won't be from a reputable knowledgeable breeder or already has health problems and will cost a fortune in vet bills.
  8. chihuahuas are expensive now a days, and a pure breed one with kc papers are around £1000+, The only way to get one is to have a chi that is no longer a puppy. The chihuahua club rescue chis and re homes them so you may get one there. Most chi breeders only sell a chi if the owners are home most of the time, this is because chis hate being left along for a long time. At 16 i expect you are still studing so maybe now is not the right time for you, also it will give you time to save up some more money, to enable you to buy a good chi instead of one from a puppy farm etc. When buying a chi please make sure you see mum and litter at the breeders home, never send money in the post or meet in a car park etc, these are the breeders to ignore. Good luck Maria
  9. I have to agree with the shelter/chihuahua rescue suggestions.
