Why are people afraid of wild animals but not people?
What I am saying is people are killing each others, you heard that everyday on the news but wild animals really don't kill people everyday like bad people do. Do you agree with me? I would like to hear from you. TY!

- I'll walk right up to a Grizzly bear for a hug, but I always cross to the other side of the street if I see a group of teenagers coming my way. I just don't trust them and their rap music.
- I prefer wild animals over people anyday.
- That's because most people can't see the world for what it is, they see as explained to them. Most animals only kill to eat or protect their territory/young. People however have many reasons to kill people or animals or they might not have any reason at all.
- In a way that is an interesting point. I believe people fear the unknown. Since animals, most especially wild animals are unknown to many people we fear them more, and are unaware of what might happen. A case in point would be a man eating lion. Unless the lion is provoked or has a real taste for human flesh or is extremely hungry, I think given the chance it would eat a gazelle rather than a human. Fear in other people is there also, but as a whole, unless it would be an unwarranted place or a dark alley in the middle of a bad neighborhood, people will feel less threatened by other people. I believe it to be our primal fears of animals that take place here.
- people are generally predictable whereas wild animals are not. Most people are good, something you can't say of wild animals. Thats we're scared of wild animals
- I agree with you. A wild animal is predictable in its unpredictability. You shouldn't approach wild animals because they can feel threatened and charge or strike out. They might turn tail and run, but if you value your life, you usually don't take that chance. And animals don't attack for stupid, petty, or insane reasons. They attack if they perceive you as food, if they feel threatened, or if they are protecting their young. They don't attack you because you are wearing a red hat or because you walked on the wrong side of that bush. They don't attack you because they're jealous of your significant other or of the fancy clothes you're wearing. People are different. They are completely unpredictable. Take that father in Washington state that just killed his children and shot himself because his wife left him. From what the friends of the family said, they were completely shocked that he would do this. The problem is that we trust people to be humane, reasoning, and compassionate. Many people are and you will always be able to trust them. But then there are mental illnesses that get in the way (a by-product of our higher intelligence?) and cause people to behave crazily. You may know a person that you would swear by and completely trust, then bam! they go psycho and kill someone. It is devastating. Then there are people that kill for the stupidest reasons. My boyfriend's brother was killed at high school by another student who fired randomly into a crowd because he was upset that someone at a skateboard park was bullying him. He was deemed psychologically fit at the trial, so that just leaves you with the fact that it was a plain stupid reason for killing someone. I am not afraid of wild animals. I respect them and keep my distance. I am terrified of people. Statistically it is unlikely that I will be killed by another human, but still, people can be extremely cruel and horrible.
- I'm not disagreeing with you at all. I have seen it both ways. Man is afraid of man that's why in the last century they began to lock their doors at night. When someone is stranded on the highway people are afraid to stop and render aid because they are afraid of what may happen. Even the ones needing help are afraid if someone stops. There's a prophesy in Luke that is being fulfilled as we speak. Luke 21:26 brings out that "men would become faint out of fear because of the expectations of the things coming upon the inhabited earth". 2 Tim.3:1-5 refers to this time period we're in as "critical times hard to deal with". I didn't think it could get worse than the story of Jeffrey Dahmer but it has. The bible even says it will get worse before it gets better. It makes it difficult for us to be ourselves and to be true neighbors. Not impossible, just difficult. Then I don't even like talking about those poor animals, (wild or domestic) because it makes me cry. Have you seen the newest SPCA commercial? It's the saddest one yet. It shows this pit-bull so scared she's trembling. You can see the fear in her eyes. Even her skin is twitching because she is so-o afraid. All Jehovah's creation is moaning and is in pain over the detestable things being done in the world. (Compare Romans 8:22) Please Jehovah let your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Jehovah's Servant Girl
- im scarred of people ... like weird looking people like u can tell when some1 is a creep
- ppl will kill for reasons ranging from No Reason-5 dollars... or cus they feel like it and animals kill for food or territory but some ppl dont take the time to examine those reasons they just think "killer animals bad"
- People is just afraid of wild animals if they meet them face to face. Since they have lower level of thinking, they'll get you abruptly because they think that you'll hurt them. But in case of people which have higher level of thinking, they know what is the difference between good and bad. And it depends on the attitude of the person if they will hurt and kill you.
- You can't seriously not know the answer to this it's so simple.
- Well, Jehovah's (servant) Girl gave a wonderful answer that I totally agree with. I will just add that I personally am more afraid of people than wild animals. I think that people are more unpredictable than wild animals are. We know that as long as we respect wild animals for what they are (wild animals) and allow them their space, we will be ok. People are not that easy to figure out. Some people are wicked, even some that seem nice on the outside, and though they may have very evil intentions, you can't always recognize the dangers they present at a glance. Of course I don't mean that I am afraid of all people. In general, I love people. But, to provide an example of what I mean: I refrain from going hiking by myself, not because of the wild animals I may encounter (which I would know how to avoid), but because of the bad people I might encounter. Where I live, girls are raped when they hike by themselves. The danger is not bears, but men.
- I have tame squirrels in my yard. The crawl all over me for peanuts. I also feed deer, but at a respectful distance. My husband and I have been known to feed a fox or two. Animals, even tho wild ones maintain a caution with humans, aren't cruel, like humans are. They go on instinct, doing what they feel at the moment. If they are hungry, they kill and eat, but don't do it recreationally. Humans are the only ones who do that, and you have people in every neighborhood, who, if they were given the right circumstance, would rob you, kill you, rape you or your children. Humans are more animalistic now than any other time in history. I for one am sick to death of hearing news reports of children being killed by adults, sometimes their own mothers. This old system cannot come to an end soon enough for me.
