- Yup its a mutt. Newfoundland x Labrador Check for them at shelters. Don't support people who breed them as *Shudders* Designer dogs...they are mutts mutts mutts.
- Its a mutt. Until there is a "breed" standard written by a parent club... it's just a mutt. :o)
- What does this question have to do with my beloved Ellen Degeneres???
- Look on www.petfinder.com. And call it a Newfoundland/labrador cross. These "designer dog" names sound really silly.
- I've looked it up and there is no such breed. Although with all the "designer dogs" of today it's probably not even hit the web yet. Although I will say it's odd to be calling these dogs by such odd names when in my day they were called mixed breeds or "mutts". And to be honest with you, mutts were among the most sought after breeds because they were smart and easier to train than most purebred dogs. Plus, they were cheap or free. Nowadays they cost more than purebred dogs do. Have you ever checked out the local papers under dogs for sale? Outrageous! Anyway, to sort of answer your question there is an undecided question here on answers regarding pugats and other breeds, I would suggest you look under some of the undecided answers. Also check out your local papers as some of these hybrid dogs have so many different names today that it's hard to keep them straight. Sorry I couldn't help out more.
- Its a mutt. DOn't pay for more than vetting. about $50.00
- May I ask why you would want one? If you look at the pics of a "newfador" they look a lot like the big black dogs in the shelter. BTW, large black dogs in humane societies have been proven to be the most difficult to adopt out. Check the humane society... I bet the one near you has the perfect dog waiting for you. Good luck! www.petfinder.com
- If you want a mutt, go to the local shelter, they have thousands that need a good home. Why would you buy an over priced mix breed and add to the over population of unwanted animals???
- And the best thing about mutts are that they make swell pets! Not show quality? As in---who cares? If everyone only wants a pure bred dog? That sounds kinda like prejudice. But that's OK. We can always be prejudiced in the dog world. Right? Because, by golly, that price tag ensures a great dog! Except that it only ensures a dog that probably has been so inbred that it's life span and quality of life reality sucks. Not all of the time, mind you. However, I have had some pure breds. And watched 90% die at an early age, or were so problem ridden that they were suffering. Give me a pup any time!
- THe best place to look is in rescues that specialize in either of those breeds. Most breed-specific rescues accept any mixed dogs as long as they are part the breed the specialize in. You can laos look through ALL the shelters in and around your area, depending how far you're willing to recieve a dog from. I would not suggest you look for breeders. A great deal of people believe that mix breeding any dogs is irresponsible. The majority of the breeders that do sell mixes, charge incredibly high prices [for a mutt without AKC standards or reservations]. Too often, you will find these people very suspicious, and I personally think many are just in it for the money. Newf/labs aren't very common, in fact I've never heard of this mix at all. If you do find a breeder that does provide them, chances are, they also have 10 other breeds going in every which way. Again, for profit. Adopting a rescue dog is a much better way to go! You will be giving it second chance in life outside a shelter cage or kennel. And don't think that you won't ever find a puppy this way! People give accident litters to chelters or rescues all the time. Use the yellow pages (or other resource books) and internet ad and clasified sites to look for shelters and rescues. Internet and newspaper classifieds can be used to pick out any personal ads. I recommend you join some dog forums as well and ask people for suggestions or even direct refferences. Most animal forums have classifeds as well, and you can post what you are looking for.
