are maltese puppies good for allergies?

if you have allergies/asthma and have a maltese, do you have any problems? thanks! and do you love your maltese/reccommend them?

1. I've never been allergic to dogs but I'm very allergic to cats. I have a poodle/maltese mix dog. What's great about her is she doesn't shed. And yes I love my dog.
