How do you blow up a balloon?

I am good at making balloon animals but I cant blow up the balloons. Does anybody know a trick to blowing them up? And don't say a balloon pump

1. stretch the balloon out first so that the rubber isn't so stiff, it will blow up easier. just pull on it length wise then width wise to loosen it up
2. blow until its big enough then let go and all the sweet action will fly everywhere! <3 balloons

A professional usually gives the balloon a quick long stretch first , and maybe there is a technique involving closing the throat after expanding the cheeks and pushing from there to get that critical first expansion on those damn things. . . . I know what you mean , 'bin there , Not done that' . Its embarrassing especially in front of the Kids ! Try giving it a pull and good stretch right near the opening , just about 2 inches back , You should be able to stretch it to about 5 inches or so to get the rubber to give that first bit.
4. Its Simple. Use a bicycle pump. Normally the use of your breath is warm than the outside which causes the balloon to explode and not forgetting the bore on having to blow up so many. Happy pumping.
5. I would have to say take a deep breath like you are going to hold your breath and then just blow from your lungs. HTH
6. I worked with a woman who was a professional clown. She would stretch the balloon both width and length first. This releases some of the stiffness of the balloon. She would then puff her cheeks in a skit like look then blow into the balloon. Some times she would add the action of letting it go and fly around the room. The kids loved it. When she had to make many balloons for a large group, she would still stretch it but then use a balloon pump. Sorry, I know you didn't want that answer, but that is what she did. Have fun! That is the important thing.
7. If you use lung power, streatch the balloon a few times. This conditions the rubber for easier expansion. However, I would recommend acquiring a small hand pump made especially for these animal balloons. They sell for less than ten bucks. To find a seller, enter "balloons wholesale" in a search engine. Also, what you could do is to preinflate them with an electric pump or hand pump prior to blowing them up by lung power if you are going to entertain.
