Cross Breeds

My cat gave birth ten hours ago. Now she won't stop crying. she only pauses when you pet her. Is she fine?

She even leaves her kitten to go looking for people. She's not hungry, I have fed her. She's been to the litter box.

  1. thats really weird to me you should take her to the vets and get her checked out!
  2. She may have a kitten stuck, and is still in labor. I would call the vet, this is not normal for a cat. While you're at it, make the appt. to get her spayed as soon as the kittens are weaned, providing your cat doesn't die from complications. Just what the world needs, another litter of kittens. thanks a lot!
  3. That's not great at all, take her to a Pet Vet.
  4. NO she is not fine. Take her and the kittens to the Vet NOW. Right now!!! Ten hours - that poor cat.
  5. She is telling you that something is wrong. Take her to the Vet ASAP!
  6. she may have more pups yet inside of her. Take her to the vet.
  7. 1st question - is this her 1st litter? She might be clueless as to what she is supposed to do... there are cats that simply have no maternal instincts. Other possibilities... something is wrong w/ either her or some/all of the kittens. A queen that keeps leaving her kittens could imply some sort of problem w/ one or more kittens & she will not stay w/ them until the one that is going to die, dies & is removed. A retained placenta is always a danger, but the fact that she is eating & using the litter box makes this less likely.
  8. must be a first time mom just stay with her and pet her... hold her down and let the kittens nurse. She is confused and really doesn't know what she is doing so just teach her... She just wants you there for assurance. tell her what a good girl she is. NEXT AT 5 WEEKS HAVE HER SPAYED!
  9. she needs to go to the vet and you will need to bottle feed the other kittens if she isnt feeding them she probably has one stuck.
  10. No she is not fine, please take her to a vet, it could be a number of things but its important that she gets help.
