Cross Breeds

What do you think about Arabian horses?

Some people hate them, I absolutey adore them! They have looks, brains, and personalities!

  1. I think they are very cute!
  2. I wouldn't say people hate them, I would however say that Arabians are never the top priority for a horse owner. They are very stubborn and don't respond as well to training as some other horses. However there speed and agility make them great for barrel running.
  3. I own two Arab/QH X. I do prefer and quarter horse type body. My 1/2 arab mare has the most beautful head though she has a nice quarter horse tail set. Her son, my 1/4 arab cross has a long tall, narrower body with the arab tail set....which I don't particularly like (my personal opinion). I do like the spirit and personality though. Both of them can go all day long, have great stamina and endurance and have a nice peppy walk that my quarter horse just doesn't have. For the best of both worlds I'll stick with my Arab/QH crosses.
  4. theyre beautiful smart and sweet, but i dont like riding them
  5. I hate their heads!!!!!! dished faces are ugly but i do love thoroughbreds and they came from arabs so i have to give them some credit
  6. I think they are very intelligent and good looking horses! Although I do raise foundation quarter horses , I still own two Arabians. One is a 23 year old flea bitten grey mare (she is almost snow white now), I leased her as a beginner horse for the neighbor girl . That gal since out grew her , I found her a new 4-H horse and now her sister uses that old mare. She is worth her weight in gold! I have always said if anyone can't get along with that mare , they need to buy a bicycle. The other is a 11 year old dapple grey gelding , he is just plain fun to ride! My daughter has him now. Both are awesome trail horses. I (we) have had many compliments on these two.
  7. I have a half arabian and I love her to death!
  8. I think that Arabians are the best breed of horse. No one understands them until they have one. Not to be mean to other horse owners, but i personally don't like QHs...they are very slow and seem TOO good to be true. Arabians are a challenge, and that's what i love. A challenge. They quicken your thinking process and abilities. They show off ALL THE TIME and they are beautiful...even when they're not behaving..haha. i think that they are just amazing. = )
  9. At my old barn there was one arabian with the sweetest personality! i never rode her but i thot she was gorgeos! i love arabians!
  10. I've rode a few including some for lessons and when looking at buying a horse. I don't really like the narrowness of their barrel all to much. The few I have rode also are difficult to ride IMO, I don't like their trot and the canter just feels different. I also don't favor how high they keep their heads either. One I rode forgot all of it's training over one winter.
  11. I used to breed Arabs and I continue to train them now. They are extremely smart and beautiful. They can be difficult to train because of their intelligence tho! They are the purest breed of horse in the world and MOSTLY ALL other breeds have some arab blood in them......due to breeding long ago to bring back breeds that were diminishing in numbers due to wars and such. Since they are the purest breed, they would cross other bloodlines....even Quarter Horses, with the arab to bring the breed back into existence! Justa cool fact for arab lovers......so you can tell your Quarter Horse "die hards" that their beloved Quarter has arab blood somewhere down their line!!!!!!! Hehehe.
  12. I have two Egyptians and two Polish Arabians, one half ArabXSaddlebred. Im not really an Arab person but i love these girls. All have their own personalities, my Polish are calmer than the others. Arabs are good for those who love them and what they use them for, there will be those who hate them...Personally i don't care the breed, its the horse itself that makes the difference.
  13. I worked with, trained, and was owned by Aye-rabs for many years. Found they learned faster than other breeds that came in for training and you Really shouldn't make stupid human mistakes with them as they have a long memory (someone at the ranch seriously buggered a kid, took me months to undo the damage). Super sensitive to body cues, lightest touch, sometimes I just Thought of what I wanted the horse to do while riding...and it was given. Trust them with my life.
  14. MY FAVORITE HORSES! i Absolutely love them there gorgeous the bad thing about them is..they are usually very highly Spirited and they don't have the heart for jumping Anglo-arabs are the best mixed.. the speed..power..Agility & the Love of Jumping of a Thoroughbred The Grace...Elegance..Looks of a Arabian Perfect Match in My Opinion!!
  15. I absolutely love arabians and I don't think I could own anything else. They are gorgeous and have great personalities. They require smart riders because arabs definitely try to outsmart their riders (the people that don't like them are usually the ones that have gotten outsmarted by an arab at some point in time). They get a bad rep because some of them can be hotter than others. But EVERY horse breed has its fair share of crazies. A majority of arabs I've been around are perfectly sane. I've actually seen pretty dead-head QH's that would act like total idiots. Theres something about the beauty of arabians that is just spellbinding. Any other horse pales in comparison when they are compared to an arab. This is just MY personal opinion, I know there are others who think differently.
