I am looking for two blue pit bull puppies?
I grew up with approx. 17 pits and never had a blue one. Now that my daughters are getting older. I would like for them both to get as puppy. I am hoping to get them once I move back to DC. Anyone have any info on reputable breeders in the area? I know to those personally unfamiliar with pits this may seem strange but, contrary to popular belief, pits are actually great with kids. Chows on the other hand...

- I don't know where you can get pit puppies, but thank you for not hating the breed. I can't stand all those people out there that think pit bulls are terrible, violent dogs. they are great and loyal. :)
- well for children i would go with pits they can be visouus and they are ulgy i would go with something cute like sibiearn husky and as far as bule gose good luck with that
- well the reason that you grew up with all those pit bulls and never had a blue one as a kid, is that blue was never really recognized as a color. it's just a diluted black (it is recognized now, because technically any color is acceptable for a pit bull) old timer dogmen scratch their head at these "newfangled blue whales" because they don't seem to look, or act, like the heroic, medium sized, people- friendly pit bull dogs of the past. do yourself a favor, and get a regular pit bull terrier with regular colors. if you haven't already, research the Sorrels line. i guarantee you'll be impressed. yes, pit bull terriers (well bred, properly raised ones) are great with kids.
- I would be careful if you are looking specifically for a "blue pit". Most breeders have bred the blue fad to no end and are constantly using the blue color to higher the prices on their puppies. Those are not good breeders at all. Despite what alot of people say, there virtually are no good more good breeders of APBT's. Most have retired or just quit because of the new blue fad. If there are some still breeding, they are not breeding blues because they know that blues carry some problems. Specifically with the coat. I would suggest you look at some shelters or rescues. EDIT: I've had a Chow and she was great with me and my younger cousins. I agree, they're not really silly and are serious dogs. But it does vary in some cases, mines was alittle playful. And just like the typical Chow, she was aloof.
- A lot of people have given good advice here regarding the blue pits. I would heed it. I would consider going to a shelter to get a couple young dogs or puppies. There are SO MANY pit bulls in shelters, it's just heartbreaking. And Chows can be great dogs -- they tend to be aloof and not silly/goofy like most pits I know, but they're not bad dogs.
- i have a red nose pit love her and she loves everyone check out this site below for info
