How well do Sphynx's do with children and small dogs?

There is a Sphynx at a rescue that I would like to adopt. In general I know each cat is different but is the breed generally good with children and small dogs? I have 3 Chihuahuas and a 23 month old. The cat would have major run of the house and of course kept inside. The dogs wouldn't bother the kitty and we are working with our son to be gentle with animals. Anyway what is the breeds normal temperament

  1. According to "Cats 101," a program I watched on the Animal Planet last night, they make excellent and genial, very healthy household pets, getting on well with children and other animals.
  2. Just as a precaution, ring up Oedipus.
  3. You are aware that Sphynxes have special grooming needs, right? Everyday you have to clean their eyes, ears, and around their claws, and bathe them once or twice a week with cat shampoo. But they have been described as part child, part dog, part monkey and part cat. They are highly intelligent, and affectionate to the point of being in your face constantly. It's great you're teaching your little one to be gentle with pets. Intelligent animals, though, need plenty to do or they get bored; you don't want that. And the Sphynx has the intelligence of an average four year old child. They're considered to be the most intelligent breed of cat.
