Is there ever more than 8 Greyhounds in a dog race?

From the races that you see on t.v do any of them have more than 8 Greyhounds in the race??????

2. no they all have 8 dogs in a race.if they had more it would get very crowded (my opinion).
3. Multnomah ran 9-dog races many years ago and Southland has experimented with them lately. See race 4: http://www.southlandgreyhound.com/pdf/100006/_20090225.pdf The number 9 racing blanket is purple with a white "X" on it. The U.S. and Australia typically run 8-dog races. Ireland and the UK usually run 6-dog races.
