Are maltese puppies good for apartments and are they really playful?

- Dunno about apartments but my nan has one at her house but its a cross, its like 8 and almost as wide as a door and has the most energy i've ever seen a dog that fat have! So i guess by seeing her dog i would assume they're playful! My nan's will chase you around and around and around the house until she'll drop dead of exhaustion and she'll keep running even though you've stopped about 19laps ago!
- Yea they are really playful and a good thing is they are trained more easily than other smaller dogs. You will want to get your puppy trained ie walk to heel , sit, and toilet trained. No puppy is good for an aparentment really, as they all need to run outside and things. But the smaller dog the better for living in an apartment.
- Well, they don't shed which is a plus. But they can be yappy if not properly exercised or trained (which can be annoying to the neighbors), they're not the easiest to housebreak (then again what small dog IS... frequent potty breaks and crate training is al i have to say), and they need plenty of grooming (try every day with frequent trips for professional clipping.) Other than that, they tend to be great dogs. Not the best with young children and they DO need to be trained just like any large dog. I had one (passed away from cancer in 2006) and she was great.
