Are humans the only animals with a "funny bone"?
I had just whacked myself a good one, and looking up I noticed a spider on the wall. My first thought was "Wouldn't that be a bitch"? Picture a giraffe or a rhino...

- Ouch. But no, many other primates have funny bones as well as many other similarities in bone structures to humans.
- The technical name for it is the humerus, but it has never seemed real funny to me. i never wondered if primates had one, good question!
- yeah i dont think so but who knows maybe some animals do and some animals dont just keep an open mind
- Spiders would not, since they have exoskeletons (so no bones). Many other vertebrates have the bone known as the humerus (which many people think is the funny bone). But, actually what you do when you whack your funny bone is you hit the nerve that is exposed (meaning, not much tissue protecting it, so easily hit) on the inner side of your elbow. Insanely not fun, but it's not actually hitting a bone. Just mushing a nerve AGAINST a bone. Now, I am not entirely sure if animals' bodies are laid out the same way as humans. If it is similar, then yes, probably some vertebrates have 'funny bones' (the exposed, vulnerable nerve) that will suck just as much to hit! (not spiders though)
