Tips on taking pictures of horses with a film camera?
Bonjour, so I'm going out to the stable this saturday. Just to get some pictures of the schooling horses. Now, I've asked this before, but I'm using a film camera, and I'm just a beginning photographer, person. So, I need any tips, Honestly, I have a REALLY old camera, it's the Nikon 7. So yeah. Ideas?

- make sure to ALWAYS have the sun at your back stand directly across from your horses shoulders for conformation shots, lower makes better angles, be sure to track the horse as it's moving and I think film is an excellent medium, don't be afraid to use it!
- try to be in an area that your not having to change your exposure dramatically between shots. like the person before said, try to keep the sun at your back. it helps if you have a helper to hold the horse and move them around the way you want. horses are quite difficult to photograph because they have a mind of their own and usually don't want to do what you do. i have a super old nikon that i use too, works great. good luck!
- Like the first poster mentioned, don't stand above the horse. Try to be body level with it. If your camera is anything like the ones I have used, stand closer that you think you need to be. All the 35 mm cameras I have used make you look like your in the right spot looking through the view finder, but when you get you pictures back they look like your way far away from the subject.
