What do you do with your child's mountain load of stuffed animals?

My daughter has so many stuffed animals and I don't know what to do with them. They take up a lot of room! I should get rid of them, but all of them were gifts and they're special. What do you do with yours? My daughter is only seven months old so she's not attached to them yet so if I got rid of them their won't be any tears or anything.

  1. My daughter has a floor lamp in the a corner of her room and I mount them around the lamp and it looks cute
  2. with your daughters permission donate them to needy children who don't have anything like that
  3. I have them in garbage bags in one of our closets and have like 5 or so out that the kids, well they dont play with. They just sit and collect dust. I have tossed them to salvation army truck once or twice and saved some special ones but they just keep coming... And now my mom gave me ALL of my old ones because she got tired of storing them and I cant seem to be able to get rid of them.. They are all in my closet in a bag but I just cant bring myself to toss them out, they are too raggedy to give to anyone... I really loved them 20 something years ago...) So maybe save them and then give them to your kids to figure out what to do with :)
  4. We got one of those things from Ikea that you hang from the ceiling, like a mesh net tube with openings to put stuff in? I'm not sure how to describe it. We put all the stuffed animals in it, it looks cute and keeps the mess off the floor.
  5. Ahh,I had a pile to. But what I did was if I had any ones that would be good for the holidays,I put those around the house. I also put some on my bed to sleep with. The ones I really didn't care about I bought a big bin and put them in there.I also had some book shelves in my room with extra space,I out some in there too. You could build a shelf on top of her window and out some up there. I know my cousin had a blanket and she had her father nail three or all corners to a corner in the room and put the stuffed animals up there like a hammock.Maybe you could put a few on the dresser or something.I know I posed mine to hold things for easy find.Thats all I got
  6. I never allowed too many stuffed animals.. They're huge dust catchers and one of my kids had asthma....
  7. Please don't throw them away! My mom threw some of mine away and I was really upset. Like that person said, get her permission to give some to charity but not all.
  8. Get rid of them while you can, keep one or 2 only, they are so un-hygienic, Charities here dont even take them. I wouldn't dream of giving a second hand stuffed toy to a child.
  9. SYS(Secret Yard Sale) or Ebay
  10. You could get one of those nets to hang on the wall... that way it will get them off the gloor. Otherwise keep a couple that you really like and donate the rest to Goodwill or something.
  11. Leave some and put the small ones (beanie babies etc) on tables as decoration (they ll look adorable!) the rest donate them too charity because although they are special all they are doing is collecting dust.
  12. You could give them to a children's charity or you could get hammock type nets and attach them to the walls. Have the teddies in them. Or a line or teddies hung up going around the walls.
  13. Give some to charity if you can find the strength, lol. Otherwise put half in storage and keep them for your next bub, if your planning on that. Really at the end of the day it's just stuff do yourself a favor and take them to charity and get back some space. Tell your fam and friends when b'day and chrissy come around that she has LOTS of stuffed animals and hopefully they will get the hint not to get her anymore. :)
  14. I hate clutter. I'm a neat freak. My daughter's zoo full of stuffed animals was grating on my nerves and she never played with them so we gave them to the Good Will. You could also donate them to your local police station or fire station and they'll give them to children who are in crisis situations. You could also donate them to a local church nursery. You could donate some to a hospital pediatrics ward for sick children. Just some ideas.
  15. My friend had a stuffed animal hammock hanging from the ceiling. My friend's daughter has so many the child has to sleep with her.
  16. I'll probably end up doing this, but my best friends little one had this problem. She got her an empty bean bag chair cover and stuffed all the animals inside for the filling. It kept them from being clutter and gave her child something to cuddle in where all the animals were. The few that were the prized animals got to stay out but the others went inside.
