Cross Breeds

Describe a moment of dissapointment in your life (similar to the discovery that Santa isn't real)?

Mine is I was always, always reading books on horses. Big Red, Seabiscuit, you name it. I would get caught up in the descriptions of the races: "Man o' War was coming in close on the inside; now he was a length away from the finish line; he won!" I especially wanted to go see the Kentucky Derby. A family friend of ours when I was little was from Kentucky, and I thought she was very lucky for living in the state that held such a famous derby. Then came the day that I realized many people came to the Kentucky Derby NOT because they were caught up in how beautiful the horses were, or how amazing the race was, but to....bet.

  1. mine(so far, im only 14) was when my parents split up. i thought for sure they had the perfect marriage cuz they never fought in front of us kids, they always acted happy. then they dropped the bombshell on us that they hadnt been happy for a long time and they were seperating. then they got divorced. another time was when i was little and i realized that the tooth fairy wasnt real. my parents would put dollar bills under our pillows when we lost teeth. well one nite my brother came into my room in the middle of the nite and stole my dollar out from under my pillow! it woke me up and i got mad. he told me "you know Lish, you can just get another one from daddy. he's the one who put it there anyway." thats when i realized the tooth fairy was a fraud, lol. i was devastated.
