what would the puppies be like if you cross breed a Shitzu and a golden retriever?

1. They would die. If they even made it to birth, I would doubt they would survive for much more than hours. Breeding extremly different genetics can be dangerous.

6. They've actually done this. I saw it on a designer dog web site. They were cute little things, smaller than goldens. They were trying to keep the wonderful sweet personality of both breeds while creating a more manageable coat for the golden. They were adorable. I would be curious as to "how" they managed it unless it was a small golden and a large shih tzu. I'm sorry, I don't remember the name they created for the mix, but it was adorable. --------------- I looked it up. They called them comfort goldens, but it was a small cocker spaniel/shih tzu mix they were using not a purebred shih tzu sire for the mix. http://dakotawinds.homestead.com/ I'm sure I saw the golden/shih tzu mix somewhere though. I will keep looking.
7. They'd still be mutts, and if the mother was the Shih Tzu, they'd likely kill her during pregnancy because of the size difference.

9. There wouldn't be any pups & your Shitzu would be dead. A golden retriever is much too large. It'd be like a Brama Bull going after a sheep or something.
10. They would be ugly sickly little mutts bred by the unethical and irresponsible. No one would want such a dog. Look in the shelters, same dogs there die daily cause no one wants a dog, they know that they could be cute puppies but they will be UGLY as adults, if they live that long.

13. I don't know how people can breed such kind of extreme in sizes. No matter what, they are mutts.
