Is there a way to search for mixed breeds on petfinder?
I don't want a purebred cause I already have one. but I want a mix. How do I find one on petfinder? Or is there another website with dogs to adopt?

- Just search any breed...most of the dogs are mixed breeds.
- Just pick a certain breed, and petfinder will list a bunch of breeds that are mixes of that certain breed. Or, you can look for the pages of shelters around your area (you may just be able to enter in a zip code and hit search) to see what they have.
- just search for dogs in your area.. or you can also search for shelters and rescues. Most of the dogs are mixes, but they are listed by the breed(s) of the mix.. it makes it easier if you have an idea of what type of breed you want.. for example if you'd like a shepherd mix, search for shepherds... some purebreds will come up, but so will shepherd mixes.
- why bother with websites go to your pounds, shelters, spca, humane society and look at bulletin boards in vet's offices there is not any shortage of available mixed breeds for adoption
- I have found most of the dogs on petfinder are mixed breeds. Most of the time they make a educate guess depending on the dogs features.
- Dogsindanger.com Check it out! It is a national website that features dogs from every breed and in virtually every state to adopt.
- In addition to searching by breed, you can search by shelter/rescue group. Enter your zip code, and look across the top of the screen. There's a button that says "search by shelter". When you search by shelter, you get all the dogs in that shelter regardless of breed. Just take some time and look at what each shelter has to offer.
- Type in the breed-Say Poodle, it will not only come up with Poodle, it will come up with Poodle x http://www.petfinder.com/search/search.cgi?pet.Animal=Dog&pet.Breed=Poodle&pet.Age=young&pet.Size=&pet.Sex=F&location=ca
