Why do people argue that animals have no emotions whatsoever?

Animals can feel, love, hate, and fear just like us. Humans are merely too arrogant to admit we are animals, as well.

1. Because most humans, like you stated, are too arrogant and stupid to realize that we're also animals, and we do have emotions.

5. Because to admit that an animal has emotion would mean that they would have to care. It would mean that they would have to stop and re-think their whole view of the world. It means that they would have to take the blinders off and care about something other than themselves in a universe that they are determined to believes revolves around only them. ~Tyed~
6. Your question shows that you care about & respect animals, so you have taken the time to see for yourself that they are capable of love, fear, curiosity & other emotions. Unfortunately, not everyone *wants* to see what is very obvious to anyone who has known & truly loved animals. Many animals are exploited or abused & if ppl admitted that these creatures are intelligent & sensitive, it would be vey inconvenient for a lot of ppl. If you want to dominate and/or exploit another living thing, it's convenient to believe that the "thing" has no emotions, mentality, personality or even any worth except some specific human-centered use. If I were a meat-eater, I wouldn't want to accept that cows, pigs or chickens have emotions & if I wasn't perfectly happy to use cruelty-free cosmetics & cleaning products I wouldn't want to to acknowledge that laboritory animals have feelings.

I totally agree with you the people that don't realize or agree that animals have emotions and feelings are people that are afraid of animals have never been around them or think that they are far to superior to an animal to have the same emotions and feelings as they do. I just feel sorry for these people who aren't as highly evolved as the rest of us to see what wonderful little beings that animals are!
