Do dogs-cats know the difference between human males, and females?
Do you think they act differently between the two? My female cats tend to be friendlier towards my boys, my male dog prefers me.

- Yes they know and act differently. Dogs are much more likely to bite a male then a female.
- yes,animals can smell testosteron and estrogen...u'r dog preferes u cause u are a woman...not kiddin :))
- yes
- hmmmmm i think soooo but not sure coz male dogs tend to hump males n females humans
- I think so. We bought a corgi from a pet store, and a girl working there was just MEAN. She was just plain MEAN to the animals, between throwing dogs around and slmming doors in thier faces. She wasn't even nice to us. That dog is not prone to females...especially not blonde females..We could tell almost instantly.
- I think they are able to detect hormones and chemicals that are different between men and women...Yes, they have a good sense for the difference in the human female and male sexes. My pets do anyway...some prefer men while others prefer women....funny thing isn't it?!
- They can probably determine male from female by voice pitch. And they can probably smell the different, too.
- Oh absolutely I even read about a rare breed of dog that enjoys playing with females more than male humans and tends to show off to get extra attentions from females. They know the difference animals are very smart.
- I think they can, my three dogs and my cat seem to know the difference. I am sure that we smell different. My pets act the same as yours.
- Excellent question *starrrr!* I believe they can, by scent.
- I doubt it but I've never reallly thought about this. Maybe its just the way that the boys act (they may be more playful).
- Yes. Dogs try for a proper sniff at womens crotches.
- I reckon that they can tell the difference as animals can smell testosterone and estrogen so they would prefer the opposite sex.
- Yes they do, they can smell the pheremones that males and females give off so they generally give more attention to either sex due to the nicer smelling pheremone, depends which one they think smells the best to them. same as when they smell each other
