How do I get rid of Fischer Cats in my back yard at night. They are trying to attack my cats and dogs?
I have heard these vicious creatures in the back yard of my home at night and saw one the other night. They kill cats, dogs, and other animals. They are very frightening and are found up here in the North East around CT, MA, NH, and Vermont and Maine..Does anyone have a good way of trying to get these creatures..I am deathly afraid of them .

- having lived in vt. i know how vicious those things can be. you may be able to get a game warden to trap them for you, but the only sure way is to get your gun out and shoot them. however, it may not be legal for you to do so. call the fish and game dept in your state, they will give you guidance.
- Call your local wildlife officers and see if they can help you out. Meanwhile, keep your pets in the house after dark.
- I have encountered a few in western PA and in VT as well. During the daytime, they mostly will run. At night, good lighting and some noise will usually keep them away while you walk the dog. Do so on a leash. If you have cats, I suggest you bring them inside at night. Fishers can be trapped if you have a permit, but contact your local agency that deals with wildlife management for further details.
