What is this puppy breed?
Hi, i saw this ad posted twice in Singapore. The 1st time , it was posted as cross breed puppy. But the 2nd time, it was posted as Belgian Malinois puppy for sale. I know that breed and don't mind getting it but what if it turns out to be a cross breed puppy? Help. the link to the ad and pic is here. http://singapore.locanto.sg/ID_101426563/Belgian-Malinois-for-sale-at-350.html If it is a Belgian Malinois , would it be hard to take care? And are they fierce? i think its a mixed breed beacuse Belgian Malinois are rare in Singapore

- I dont know but it is damn cute!
- Looks like it to me, a little fluffier but it may just be because it's a puppy. I would snatch that puppy up! Also, I would look into this breed before you get it. They are working dogs. They need ALOT of room to roam. And also very protective and good watch dogs.
- I dont think I'd bother with this puppy.. for starts, they had it listed as a mix once before.. and now they are trying to call it a Malinois. So more than likely it is a mix and not a purebred. They also claim that its 1-2 months old. A pup should not be taken from its mom before 8 weeks.. but honestly, this pup looks more like 3-4 months old anyways. Malinois are a herding breed.. they are also used for police and protection work. Knowing this much.. I'd say they are not easy to care for. They would need a firm pack leader, and as an intelligent working breed.. they need a job to do.. otherwise you will have an obnoxious, destructive, and possibly aggressive dog on your hands.
- It is a cute dog , but does look like a mix to me . There are so many dogs and puppies desperate for homes in shelters right here in our country . Why not adopt one of those ? Save yourself the cash and the cost of having it shipped here .
- Jolene, never buy a puppy you aren't sure of. See if you can go to several dog shows, meet some top breeders (who will also have Pet Puppies for sale, not just show dog puppies) and get to know more about this and many other breeds. At the very least, you can learn what an 8-wk. old puppy of your chosen breed should look like but I think you could learn much more than that and have fun, too. The Belgian Malinois is a terrific dog for an owner who will exercise the dog well daily and train the dog to its highest potential. These are not lap dogs or backyard dogs. They have to have a job to do or will get into trouble. If you buy a cross-bred or mixed breed dog, generally speaking you are stuck. Breeders who sell mixes as purebreds usually either disappear, move (or say they did), or hotly deny that your dog is a mix. Sure, you can have the DNA checked and Maybe get your money back but by then you'll probably be attached to the dog. You can't have the dog And your money back. This is truly a case of Buyer Beware!
- It looks simular to a Belgian Malinois pup, I HIGHLY HIGHLY doubt its a purebred and if it was, its the most horribly bred one I have ever seen. Think about this carefully, it was originally advertised as a crossbreed, the likely hood is the owner doesnt really know and is changing the breed to get more buyers. IF they advertise as purebred you will get more hits and money if the person buying doesnt really know there dog breeds. This is a BM pup http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/bc/Belgian_Malinois_Puppy.jpg Yes they are aggressive, guardian type breed. Often used in Security, Military, and Police work. IF you are not familiar with training of this type you could have a problem.
- The coloring looks about right, but I am by no means an expert. Personally, it's probably full bred, just not well bred. It looks a little too fluffy. http://malinoisclub.com/ They will tell you anything and everything you will ever need or want to know about the breed. Is this person close to you? Would you be able to go see the puppy first? People selling their puppies over the internet like that make me nervous. There are so many scams that are similar to this one. So I would really try to get a good grasp on this person, ask A LOT of questions about their dog and if possible, visit the puppy at their home before you give her any money.
- hi, i seriously doubt that it is a purebred malinois because (a) it was already listed as a mix-breed and is too fuzzy in certain areas, not just puppy fuzz. (b) the age is a total lie. that puppy is closer to 4 months of age. and (c) it has a white chest. i've never seen a malinois with white on it and the breed standard (AKC) says only white on toes and a tiny spot on the chest is allowed, but all other white is considered to be a fault. I'm thinking these people are complete idiots hoping that another idiot will fall for their scam. they probably don't know much about dogs, got it and then couldn't take care of it for whatever reason and are trying to sell it/pass it off as something they can make money off of- a young purebred puppy. it's probably not housetrained either. lots of people rehome their dogs after not being able to potty train them and he looks to be around that age. and remember that one-two months old is TOO YOUNG to get a puppy. 4-8 weeks is when they learn crucial social skills from mom and littermates which will make your life easier later, as far as training and socialization. Best of luck to you! I'm sure you'll find a great pet.
- I don't know what kind of dog that is. But it is so cute.
- More then likely a mixed breed. Plus 1 month !?!?! WAAAAAAAAAAAY too young.
