Is it haram to draw pictures of cartoon characters and animals?

I mean cartoon characters and not real life people like ourselves plus suppose it's not for animations and just a display, is it still haram? Please I need a real explanation, thanks.

No, it's not haram. In fact, the prohibitions of art in islam was targetted against making idols for worships. arts in ancient cultures meant making and adoring idols. arts for the promotion of human thoughts and intellect is never prohibited,as Qurann itself and books on Sunnah are examples of literature in islam.
well,basically it is not haraam.but the haraam situation comes when you hang(or display) the picture on the wall of your house bcoz it is said malaikat(angels)won't come to your house n they don bring rahmat from Allah...honestly i think you should refer to syeikh/ustaz bcoz they know better than us.
