  2. Check out the local shelter or a nearby shelter.
  3. Try the SPCA. Adopting is always good. But if you don't have the money to buy the dog then are you sure you have enough for yearly expenses such as medical bills, food, toys, treats, etc.? Also look up an Eskimo Dog's personality, they're not a dog for every Tom Dick and Harry. ALWAYS make sure to research your dog first and calculate your financial situation first.
  4. dogs can be really expensive. Routine shots a year, food, dog tag, leash, collar, toys, training.. and then hopefully they don't get sick or injured. I just adopted a dog who I knew was sick (as I knew no one would want to take him) and his vet bills for the last month alone are over $1000. Any dog could have these vet bills. So make sure you are prepared. If you find that you are, and it is the right choice check out www.petfinder.com to search a rescue in your area. I found 2 of my 3 dogs from that site.
  5. www.petfinder.com. We have a great pyrenese and he is the greatest dog ever he is a very friendly gentle giant!!
  6. just realize that a dog, even if you get the dog for free, costs a LOT to take care of properly. make sure that you can afford to have a dog past the actual getting a dog part. be a responsible owner.
  7. Do your research on those dogs before you get one. If you live in an apartment, don't get a large working dog. (a breeder near here sold a malamute pup to a young couple in an apartment) They need A LOT of exercise. Don't just get one because it's "cute."
  8. if youre getting a husky be careful, they are very sweet fun dogs.but they are also really hyper and energetic. They need tons of exercise and they love to tear up everything...i have a year old husky and he is alot of work..
  9. I have a 7 yr old eskimo male and trust me, they are a lot of work. Be prepared to walk a lot with them and keep them mentally stimulated. He's a beautiful dog, and was an adorable pup, but knowing what I know now I would have seriously rethought our decision to adopt him! Don't get me wrong, they can be wonderful dogs, just be prepared to put in the work needed to get them that way. They also need quite a bit of grooming, so that needs to be a consideration as well. I have no experience with the other breeds mentioned, but if you do your research on them I'm sure you'll find the best choice for your lifestyle:)
