Why do so many peeps have pictures of cats as their avatars on R&S?

1. They're smarter than humans.
2. For many it is a reference to the ceiling kitty (lolcat), or the famous picture with the caption of "every time you masturbate, god kills a kitten" or maybe it is just because kittens are cute and the R&S'ers are an emotional bunch. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lolcat
