why is my dogs bum bleeding?

i took my toy poodle out for his morning poop, and he was kinda squat walking around, with no poop coming out, but i noticed 2 little drops of blood in the snow. the dog didnt poop tho....any ideas? yes i am taking him to the vet. i am waiting for my husband to get home from work, but in the meantime, i am freaking out.

2. the vet is the place to go, he might have a little blockage from something he ate and it is stuck up in there.anal glands or hemmorids can also be the problem but ur vet should be able to find out whats going on. bright red blood is usuerally a sign of a sore or infection pretty close to the surface so ur vet can treat him properly. good luck
3. There are many things that have bleeding from the anus as symptoms. One is colitis, but I'd expect more than just a couple of tiny drops if that were the case, to be honest. It could be hemorrhoids, it could be a lesion in the stomach. It could just as easily be a small scratch or nick in that area. It really could be so many things. Generally speaking, the fresher (more red) the blood appears, the closer the injury is to the anus. The vet is always the best option in such cases. Hope it goes well for you.
