How to find a dog in the snow?

I haven't seen my toy poodle for a while and when I asked my kids I found out that they had let it outside the last big snowfall and never let it back in. So we figure that it must be trapped under the snow. Does anyone know how to find a dog in approx. 2 feet of snow?

8. Look under decks, tables, leeward side of trees etc. You don't have two feet of snow everywhere.
