- Cockapoo (dog mixed breed) Dodo (extinct bird)
- Platypus dik-dik (a tiny deer-like animal. They live in Africa, but I saw them in the Madagascar movie) Humuhumukununukuapua (also called a Trigger Fish) It means "fish with pig's nose" in Hawaiian. Some people think this is the official state fish of Hawaii, but Hawaii does not have an official state fish!
- Kākāriki
- I rather enjoy the sounds of "kinkajou," "xenops," "quokka," "uakari," and I've always liked "aye-ayes," too. Oh, and I love "bushbaby." I always say one of my cats looks like a bushbaby. Some animals that we hear about all the time in the US but that still sound odd or interesting to me are "nuthatch," "meerkat," "gnu," and "zebra" (especially when speaking with someone from the UK who pronounces it with a short e sound).
