Does anyone know if the methods used to heal horses in the 'Heartland' books actually work with real horses?

The book series is called 'Heartland' and the author's name is Lauren Brooke if you want to check these books out, they are all about horses! (An example of one of the methods is a join up where the girl and the horse learn to trust each other.) Thanks to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. I don't see why they wouldn't work.
  2. Absolutely! If you can find the book called the Man who Listens to Horses by Monty Roberts it explains how the whole join up process works. The horse is pushed away from you first, as it would be in a herd if it did something wrong. The lead mare would send it away. Once the horse starts responding and showing the he's accepted your leadership by lowering his head, having one ear on you and "licking and chewing" he is allowed to come back to you. This is by far one of the best ways I've found to train horses. The other method used in "Heartland" is T-touch. Massaging starting with little circles in one area and slowly getting larger. This really relaxes the horse and creates an excellent bond.
