Does the fact that male sea horses give birth give you reason for celebration, or just do your head in?
It's about diversity as thing righlty points out. Interesting point about the clown fish and also clarifying the sea horse reproductive process. Thank you both

- I guess this kills the argument that many women use that males can't handle giving birth.
- Anything women can do men can do better!!!
- I hope they go extinct! freaks of nature.
- Leave the poor seahorses alone! In birds, XY means female, XX male. That's wierder.
- ummm they dont really give birth. They have a pouch like a kangaroo. No labor, no pushing. Female lays the eggs inside his pouch. While on Fish:(I'm a reefer)....all Clown Fish start as males, only the biggest in the school is a female. They cant not go back to male once female. besides what the heck does this have to do with human males? There are several different species that "giving birth" will mean guaranteed death for the female...as the children eat her to start there live. One beetle from the insides out AHHHH.
- All the great diversity of our planet is a reason to celebrate! Cheers :-)
- Neither, I just think it's really cool and wish all human males could have the experience a few times...then we'd see how many of them would be anti abortion.
- I'd still be anti abortion. Just because you can get pregnant doesn't mean you have to be irresponsible.
- it makes me feel all warm and gooey inside. Some women love to be pregnant and have kids. I dread it! So if there's ever a hope that i can have my kids without having to be the spouse who gets pregnant and carries the baby, i lash on to it
- That is ZY and ZZ, J! Get it right psychologist! Gives reason to admire the wonders of the real world!
- Uh oh someone hasn't done their homework!! The female seahorses give birth but then it's the males that keep it in their pouch.
