Cross Breeds

I'd LOVE to breed sea horses. I need some help, how do I breed them?

I once saw some baby sea horses at the science center and I thought they were adorable! So I'm going to buy a male and female. I've been looking on the internet on how to breed them, and I tried to find books, but everywhere I go, all the answers/instructions are different. Please help! :)

  1. First you need a mature salt tank Seahorses are a very delicate fish. No other fish should be in your tank with them and especially not damsels. they can be tricky to raise and even more so to breed. Do you know what kind of sea horse's you would like to have? This may be part of why the info varies. Repost with the TYPE and we will try to help you from there
  2. Sea horses are VERY difficult to keep and even more difficult to breed. Unless you have several years of marine tank experience, you should not even attempt to keep sea horses as a tank specimen. Start by investing a few hundred dollars into a small marine tank to gain some experience, then consider sea horses. Until then, continue enjoying the sea horses in your local science center.
