Why don't we make the race longer and let horses race around the track several times?

Just let them keep running. Some will drop out, but a few will race around the track two or three times. The last one standing is the winner!

1. Yes..why don't we keep them running until they drop dead of a heart attack!!! Horses are trained to run over certain distances. I think these poor horses do enough to entertain the gambling folk without pushing them to injury or death!

3. Great ideal. I am all for it dude. It jus makes me mad to sit all day long for a race that lasts 2 mins. at the most. It is CRAZEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE as well. Your ideal is gr8--although watch out for those PETA ppls-they will probably have a fit--jus let em have a fit. They'll treat u like they treated Michael Vick--heavens forbid! I can tell u now that Gayego will be the last one standing becuz he has the SMARTEST JOCKEY--MIKE SMITH--ONE OF MY FAV S.
4. Great Idea! Also, there should be a minimum of at least forty horses running to make it more exciting. The field is just too small these days. Another idea: have another group of horses start from the opposite directions, then the two groups have to maneuver among each other and this would show their skills and horsemanship better. Also, horse relay races would be good too. And has anyone ever though of horses versus greyhounds or horses versus cheetahs?
