where can I find a healthy Maine Coon cat that does not break the bank.?
I live on a large property and currently have 3 dogs and 3 cats. My oldest cat is a 13 year old orange tabby. I have been looking for a purebred or close to it maine coon. My local shelter claimed to have several but they are not the real deal. I want a extra large cat. I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars. As it is cats can be very expensive with veterinary care and so forth. Any ideas on where to look?

- you can search on www.kijiji.com if you live in the states. After that, select your state and then pets, then cats. I found many mainecoons on there when I was looking. Some may be breeders, some may not and some may not know what they have. A lot of the posters also post photos of their cats. Good luck.
- Petfinder.com. Do a search for Maine Coons. Breeders also adopt out retired cats from their breeding program for much less than the cost of a kitten. These can be as young as 2-3 years old. Most of these are up-to-date on shots and already altered.
