Where can I donate used stuffed animals?

I live in New Jersey and my family and I are getting rid of tons of stuffed animals. We want to donate them somewhere that will benefit children, but I know a lot of places won't accept them because they aren't new. Any suggestions?

  1. Call your local Child Protection Services in your area. Many abused children are taken out of homes without anything including toys. Also Domestic Violence Shelters and even Family Shelters as well. You can also donate to Outreach Programs in your area that have thrift stores that sell slightly used items to benefit their programs in helping people get out of poverty. I have listed a few resources that can point you in the right directions.
  2. have you checked out your local thrift stores, such as the salvation army,or local orphanages, hold a yard sale and give them away for free, trying contacting organizations that supply toys to underprivileged children in third world countries contact some of the churches in your area they may be able to give you some good leads, as well as some area shelters, remember there's a war going on and i'm sure you maybe able to find some organizations interested in these types of non violent toys, good luck.
  3. i;m sure your local orphanage will want them. Even a pet puond might. If none of those work then you can give them to National geographic Kids. They are making a stuffed animal drive.
  4. you can donate it to thrift stores, orphanages aka "children's homes", children's hospitals, etc.
