How can I remove cat dander from unwashable stuffed animals?

Someone who has cats gave my daughter a bunch of stuffed animals. She already saw them so it is too late to take them back. Her father is extremely allergic to cats and as soon as he walked into the room his allergies started right up. We cannot wash these because they are electronic. Any suggestions other than throwing them out and breaking my daughter's heart?

  1. put them in a plastic bag and shake or hang out side in the breeze or tumble in the dryer on AIR in a pillow case
  2. You might try wiping them down with a lysol or bleach wipe. Not saturating of course. Failing that, its not worth keeping them if its causing her father allergic response. I understand you don't want to disappoint the child but perhaps you can use this as a teaching opportunity and communication exercise.
  3. maybe wipe them, vaccuum them.... leave them out side for a day or so. good luck
