What is the average calories burned daily by the sled dogs running in Alaska's annual Iditarod race?

How many calories you burn is related to how much oxygen you intake, and the dogs have smaller lungs than we do, also they will be fed only what could be carried with them over the course of the race. I'm going to guess between 30 to 50 thousand calories during the race, as a low estimate. bye like
