Good and bad about the maltese puppies?
Is a maltese puppy a good dog for a 12 year old which I am and are they good with little kids? And plus do they bark a lot I heard they bark in the middle of the night so is that true? And since my grandma's not used to dogs would it bother her? Plus does it have a lot of health problems which is expensive?

- No, because they tend to be nippers. Also, some our what I call "snobs" and will not acknowledge anyone but their immediate family members.
- they are suuuuper cute, but their not know for being particularly good with kids. how much it barks depends on how you train it. from the beginning, i would tellmy dog "NO" in a disapproving voicce when he barked for no reason, so he doesn't bark too much now, but it depends on the dog. they dont have many health problems, and i dont think it would bother your grandma. Its not a very big nuissance. ITS UBER CUTE =DDDD
- I dont reccomend any small breed for homes with very young children.. as small dogs tend to be fragile. A 12 year old tho is old enough to know how to properly handle and treat a dog tho. Many small dogs are yappy.. but if given exercize and mental stimulation during the day, they should not be up barking in the middle of the nite! All breeds of dogs come with health issues.. small breeds expecially are prone to dental problems, PRA, luxating patella, hypoglycemia, and seizure disorders, just to name a few things. The decision to get a dog should be discussed with the family. If grandma has a hard time getting around, it may not be a good idea to get a pet if its a risk that she may trip over it.
