Advice on bottles feeding 2 week old chihuahua puppies?

My mom is taking in five 2 week old chihuahua puppies tomorrow and I would like any ones advice on how to bottle feed them, bowel movements ect.... The mother stopped producing milk. My mom did it once before but it was a few years ago. Thanks

  1. You have to get a special formula at the vets or at the Pet store. They also have bottles made for puppies. It will tell you on the formula how often you have to nurse them for their size and weight. Good luck with this, that is nice of you and your Mom.
  2. Thank goodness they are already two weeks old ! You will have to bottle feed, and poop/ pee them with warm damp, paper towels, every couple of hours. You can raise them on goats milk, or buy puppy formula (if you do get the kind with colostrum). Keep Nutrical on hand, and start making canned puppy food/ milk gruel for them , tiny bits, and get them lapping it by 3 weeks old. Be sure to worm them with pyrental pamoate every week. ( Nemex is one brand, weigh them, don't overdose) . I hope they had a vet check, and be super sure to keep them quite toasty warm ! Cold puppies get overwhelmed by bacteria or virues and die often. Hope you had a vet check on them too.... Mom may have lost her milk due to some infection. Good luck ! Founder of SugarNSpice Chihuahuas
