how many sled dogs are pulling a musher in a race?

i just need to know because i'm writing an essay.

1. It depends on what race! In the Iditarod the maximum number of dogs you can race in 16, and I believe the minimum is 6 or 7. In sprint races you can see races that are just 1 dog, to teams that have 20+ dogs racing.
2. The first answer is right, it totally depends on the race. You can check rules for different races and see how many are used in that race.
