What airlines let you fly with 2 small dogs?

I have 2 small Poms both weigh 5lbs and under. I have never flown with 2 dogs and I was wondering how that worked? Can I have them both in coach with me and what does that usually run in price?

  1. You can only have animals on board if you have written documentation from a Doctor that you need them for medical purposes (like a seeing eye dog). Otherwise you have to fly them in the cargo area. This can be traumatic and extremely dangerous, especially for smaller animals, as cargo can move around and frighten/injure the animal. Please make well informed decisions when traveling with your pets.
  2. Some airlines allow you to fly with your pets in the cabin. You would have to pay a pet fee, and they would have to be placed in a special kennel that's approved for air travel because you have to stick them under the seat in front of you. However, if you are flying with two dogs, then you will need to travel with another person as there can only be one pet under a seat. A pet fee is usually $100. Continental, Delta, JetBlue and a couple others will allow cabin pets. As the above answer mentioned, you do not need a letter from a doctor unless your animals are emotional support animals or service animals.
  3. usually 1 per passenger--if you are flying solo, one will have to go downstairs in baggage. If one knew your airline and origin/destination, one could answer the price question
