Sled Dog Job - Information Wanted ?
Is there a type of job where you have to test the dogs out and see if they can run properly. If so what is the job called. I don't want to be a Musher and actually race with them

- The job is called a handler. You would help attaching them to the gangline, getting the team to the starting line at races, assist with dog care and training and do a lot of mundane kennel chores. Several of the big racing kennels have handlers. So do some of the dogsled touring companies. A racing kennel wouldn't pay much, usually room and board plus a small stipend. A touring company would be more likely to pay a better salary but I wouldn't expect much. Small racing kennels are likely to have an unpaid handler to help at races. Your expenses would be covered but that's all. If you are looking for a handler position go to sleddogcentral.com
