why does my maine coon cat suddenly eat human food?

For about a month now my maine coon cat is into any human food in sight. He never did this before and now he tears through the wrappers of bread, raw meat, cheeses, cookies, etc. He climbs on the table and counters looking for any human foods to eat, even out of the pots and bowls. Why would he start doing this after 14+ years?

2. they usually don't do that unless you let them try human food but id recommend child locking all food up and give him canned cat food once i a while sometimes they'll stop other wise put cyan pepper on and around your food that'll stop him if not talk to an animal specialist see if they can help
3. He got a taste of something good and will never let an opportunity go wasted now. You do need to keep all those good foods in cupboards and out of his reach and eventually he'll forget about them. Also consider that his dietary needs may have changed with age, he may not be digesting his regular food properly and might feel like something is missing.
4. Most cats like raw liver and chicken, anything else isn't healthy. You shouldn't leave food out, it'll be a hard habit to break. Maybe you should introduce a new cat food?
