Do dogs and cats know the difference between male and female humans?

I am the Alpha but in my "pack" do my three dogs and two cats know I am female

4. I think they do. Because some prefer a female or male owner. I also think they must know, cause when i was pregnant, we had a cat at the time, she she used to pur like mad, and lay on my tummy lol. xx

6. I don't think so. I wonder if dogs and cats even recognize gender within they're own species, I always see male dogs humping other male dogs
7. They do indeed! Have you ever noticed that male animals tend to get along better with female masters? YOU see yourself as the alpha, but do your animals know this? They probably just see you as one of the females in THEIR pack. xD Or the 'alpha female'.
