- the name of the one, is English bulldog, so you can study them online. You will see that the OLD English bulldog was used in developing the American bulldog..
- laddoooooooooooo
- I've kept american bulldogs and it really does depend on the dog. I've had some that are really soft and affectionate and others which would rip your arm off as soon as look at you. They're a lot like people. You can't predict the temperment of the breed.
- Well, to tell the truth, I`ve never seen such breed. But one thing is sure, if you raise your dog from when it was a puppy with loving care, it will grow to be a good dog. All depends on how you raise your dog. Be kind to it.
- I've never seen an American Bulldog/English Bulldog mix, so I can't give you any personal experience. However, being a mixed breed there is no standard to go by. It really depends on the individual dog. If you got to see the parents that will give you an idea as to what their personality might be like. In any case it would be a good idea for you to take the dog to a puppy class for socialization and basic obedience skills. This will increase your chances of ending up with a friendly, well behaved adult dog.
- I use to believe that it all depended on how you raised the dog but two years ago I was proven wrong. I have always had bulldogs and they were great pets wonderful around the cats and my kids then two years ago we got a new American bulldog puppie and by the time she was a year old she had killed 5 ducks, 7 cats, and went after my son. We found out later that she came from a long line of fighters. Not sure that this was the cause or not, but make sure you know your puppies parents, grandparents, ect.
- A litter of American / British bulldogs was sold last year in Belfast. I have seen some of the pups and have spoken with their owners. They have all indicated that the pups were as strong as horses but very placid and even-tempered. The British bulldog blood should certainly take the edge off any aggression which may come through the American strain. I would also state that I have never seen an American bulldog display aggression to a human.
