Cross Breeds

is a cross breed of japanese spitz and shih tzu a good combination?

i buy a puppy which is a combination of a japanese spitz and a shih tzu... i dont have any idea of what she will look when she is already full grown.. is there any possibility to still have a pure shih tzu in the future if i let her stud by a pure breed shih tzu?

  1. if she is a combination of both then her child will possibly be 1/4 japanese spitz but as it goes on the child will look less like a japanese spitz but more of a shih tzu maybe?
  2. That's funny,a while ago you said that the puppy's mother died and you wanted to know how you could save the puppy's life. So where did you get the puppy and what did the mom die from? Also, please do not breed the puppy! There are millions of dogs killed every year because of people breeding mutts. Please just get her fixed when she turns 5 -6 months old. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Avt9GGO8G8OSOSHwy3uje6vsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20081208191802AApEvoV
  3. No chance of ever getting a pure bred Shih Tzu from a mixed breed dog irrespective of what breed you mate it with. If you want a pure bred Shih Tzu why not buy one in the first place instead of getting a cross bred dog. Pure means pure. Mixed is not pure no matter how you try to dilute it.
  4. If you cross a mixed breed dog with a purebred dog, you will still have mixed breed puppies. A Japanese spitz crossed with a Shih tzu is an odd sounding combination. I would guess that the pups would grow to become very hairy dogs that shed a great deal and bark a lot. Maybe very cute, though. I'd love to see what they look like at maturity but I wouldn't want one as I prefer short haired dogs.
  5. Sorry dear but your dog is a mutt so it will only produce mutts. Could look like either/ I wouldn't bred her I'd just get her spayed and treat her like family. She will make you a great pet.
